New York City Wedding Videography Prices

It's hard to put a price tag on memories, but you do need to budget for wedding videography. The price of wedding videographers can vary widely, depending on factors like what you want to be covered, how long you want your video to be and the wedding location. If the Big Apple is the backdrop for your big day, we've got you covered. Let's break down the costs of NYC wedding videographers and what you need to know to choose the right package.

How Much Is a Wedding Videographer in New York City?

Some NYC wedding videographers set prices by the hour, while some charge by the day. Others, like us here at Brighter Lights, offer packages with different elements included in each. Spending more might get you a package with more videographers at the event, more hours of coverage or a longer video. Our NYC wedding videography prices range from $3,600 to $5,600. If something is not included in your package, we can add some services for an additional cost.

What's Included in a Wedding Videography Package?

Every wedding videographer in NYC has a different approach, but here's how we do it at Brighter Lights. In each package, you'll get a short cinematic highlight video with the best and most beautiful moments of the day. You'll also receive eight or more hours of coverage, during which we'll record in 4K ultra-high-definition resolution. Where possible, we can even use drones to collect sweeping aerial shots to take in the charm of your entire venue.

Some of the add-ons we offer include an Instagram trailer, rehearsal dinner coverage, raw footage and additional hours.

Below are our wedding videography packages in New York City.

1. Memoir

Memoir is our shortest videography package, offering a cinematic highlight video with 3-4 minutes of your big day set to music. It's a great way to capture the best moments of the event in a shareable format.

The Memoir package costs $3,600 and includes:

  • One videographer: An experienced videographer will be there to capture your special day in stunning 4K quality. They know how to get the right angles and build a beautiful story.

  • Eight hours of coverage: Eight hours generally gives us enough time to record the ceremony and other moments, like a first look and the reception.

  • Drone/aerial establishing shots: When we can, we'll use a drone to collect breathtaking videos from above that show your wedding day from a birds-eye view.

For $500, you can add an extra videographer and a start-to-finish edit of the ceremony, speeches and special dances.

2. Heirloom

Heirloom builds on the Memoir package, upgrading the cinematic highlight film to 4-5 minutes of footage, complete with both music and dialogue.

This package costs $4,600 and includes:

  • Two videographers: An extra videographer can capture more angles and shots for complete coverage of the day.

  • Nine hours of coverage: We can film more parts of the wedding — such as getting-ready photos or a grand exit — with an additional hour.

  • Drone/aerial establishing shots: As with the Memoir package, we'll fly high above the venue for some unique visuals when possible.

  • A start-to-finish edit: This package includes a complete edit of your ceremony, speeches and special dances so you can experience the entire day all over again.

3. Legacy

If you want to look back on your wedding video in a few years and relive every smile, tear and "I love you," the Legacy package is for you. This option is $5,600 and includes a cinematic feature film with 15-20 minutes of wedding day bliss, paired with music and dialogue. You'll also get a smaller cinematic highlight video that's 3-4 minutes long and perfect for sharing with loved ones.

The Legacy package includes:

  • Two videographers: Two experienced videographers will be there to capture the day and get all the right angles.

  • Ten hours of coverage: Ten hours is typically plenty of time to record every part of the day, from getting ready in the morning to dancing the night away.

  • Drone/aerial establishing shots: Of course, our drones will collect sweeping shots from up high if possible.

  • A start-to-finish edit: Like the Heirloom package, you'll get a full edit of the day's events, including the ceremony, speeches and special dances.

How to Determine the Right Package for You

Choosing the best NYC wedding videography package looks different for every couple. The more you have planned, the easier it will be to decide, but you don't need everything mapped out yet. Try to identify your nonnegotiables first. Are there certain events you must have included? Are you dying to get an aerial shot of your unique venue? Once you've figured out what you need and what might not be as important, selecting your package should be a little easier.

Ask yourself the following questions to get a better idea of the right wedding videography package for you.

1. What Events Do You Want in Your Wedding Video?

Some couples want their wedding video focused on the main events, like the ceremony and reception. Others may prefer to see the private moments that reflect the emotions of the day. If you want more intimate moments included in your wedding video — such as first looks and special dances with loved ones — you may need a package with more coverage, like Heirloom or Legacy.

2. What Style of Editing Do You Prefer?

A music-only video infuses the emotions of a song with your special day, but some couples may want to hear dialogue from the day, too. If you want your wedding video to include candid comments from loved ones, the wedding vows and reception speeches, you'll need an appropriate package. Heirloom and Legacy include videos with dialogue, while the Memoir package is music-only. Still not sure? Explore our video gallery to see which style resonates with you the most.

3. What Is Your Budget?

Your budget is perhaps the most important factor to consider. The Legacy package gives you the best deal, especially if you're a part of the 83% of younger couples who feel that photo and video are the most important element of a wedding. If your budget is tight, Memoir is the most affordable package. We can always work with you to include extra elements, like an additional videographer or a start-to-finish edit, with add-on pricing.
